Designed with expressiveness as the number-one priority, Renard’s got over 30 custom gesture-driven expressions, with each expression further tweakable via additional puppet controls found in the radial menu!

Included Files:

  • Ready-to-upload Unity package
  • FBX file (Contains the model, rig, and material assignments)
  • Substance Painter files (2 files, one is the default model and the other has the mouth open and eyelids closed for painting those hard-to-reach areas) with pre-made layers, gradient-maps, and masks in order to make retexturing much easier
  • Photoshop file (for those who would rather not purchase Substance), also with pre-made layers, gradient-maps, and masks
  • Individual PNG texture files
  • Simple read-me for more instructions


Software Versions used in Renard’s creation:


Simple steps to upload the included assets to VR Chat:

  • Launch Unity 2019.4.31f1 and create a new project.
  • Import the latest VRChat SDK package via Assets>Import Package>Custom Package
  • Import the Poiyomi Shader package via Assets>Import Package>Custom Package.
  • Import the Renard Avatar package via Assets>Import Package>Custom Package.
  • Open the Renard VRChat Starter scene via File>Open Scene and select Renard_VRChat_Starter from the available options (full path: [project path]\Assets\Avatars\Renard\Scenes\Renard_V2.0)
  • Make your modifications. For example, in order to edit Renard’s eyecolor textures you could swap out any of the included “body_meshes_diffuse_[...].png” files under Assets\Avatars\Renard\Textures\ for a custom texture of your own.
  • Login to VRChat via the VRChat SDK menu (click “Show Control Panel”, you’ll then be prompted to log in)
  • Select your avatar in the “Builder” tab and click Build & Test or, if you’re feeling confident it will all work, Build & Publish for Windows. Name your avatar how you’d like and change the cover picture by swapping out the texture on the “Thumbnail_Image” game object for one of your own. There is a camera included in the scene titled “Match_VRCCam_to_this_when_publishing” that is already focused on the thumbnail image, just match the VRC cam era’s settings to that and you’re golden!
  • Enjoy your avatar!

YOU CAN:

  • Customize and edit the model the way you want for yourself.
  • Sell commissions to modify, reskin, or otherwise customize the assets for another person, as long as both parties have purchased the assets.
  • Use the model in NeosVR, VRChat, SUVA, VSeeFace, and Beatsaber, though note that this avatar currently only comes pre-set up for VRChat.
  • Upload cloneable versions of these avatars on VRChat
  • Use the avatar for Youtube and Twitch, but you need to credit the product with the following link: https://edisonfox.gumroad.com/


YOU CANNOT :

  • Resell, redistribute, or give any Renard-related content to others (even to close persons). This includes adoptions or modified versions.
  • Share files for technical support to someone who is not @certified
  • Remove the tag (or credits on the tag) inside of the chest, although you can add your own name to the credits if you have made edits.
  • Use inappropriate edits on public worlds. Please do not share any files of any variant of the default base you make. Custom texture files are fine to share.
  • Claim to be the author of this model.
  • Use these assets for any purposes of hate, bigotry, to cause harm, to cause fear, or in relation to any politically motivated message or agenda. This includes but is not limited to modification of the assets or using the assets in association with such purposes.

Note: I fully understand that what you do with these files after you have purchased them is entirely up to you and is, frankly, out of my control. I would, however, like to personally ask that you please not use Renard for the creation of non-safe-for-work content. Making content like Renard is how I make a living, and I try to keep my brand safe for everyone. I hope you understand <3
